The Personal Property Department of the Baldwin County Revenue Commission is responsible for appraising, assessing and assisting in the collecting of personal property taxes.

There are now four ways to assist you in filing your Business Personal Property Tax Returns. It is only necessary to utilize one of these methods, however if you do not file a return in a timely manner by one of these methods, penalties and interest will be added to your Personal Property Tax Bill.

The four methods are as follows:

  1. OPPAL-Optional Personal Property Assessment Link - 2018 Tax Year filing will be available October 1, 2017.
  2. Short Form (ADV-40S) Business Personal Property Tax Return with your local taxing official.  To qualify for this option you must have filed a detail itemized return for the prior year and the total original acquisition cost of all the taxpayer’s taxable tangible business personal property remains equal to or less than ten thousand dollars($10,000).
  3. To eFile your Business Personal Property Detailed Return (ADV-40), please complete this Business Personal Property eForm. (Submit and print buttons only work on IE browser)
  4. Mailing your Business Personal Property Return form (ADV-40) to the return address located at the top of the form.

Business Personal Property Tax returns may be electronically submitted to personalproperty@baldwincountyal.gov
