Under the American
Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) the Baldwin County Commission is authorized to use a
portion of their awarded fiscal recovery funds for investments in Potable
Water, Sewer, and Stormwater Public Infrastructure Projects.
The communities
of Loxley, Summerdale, and Silverhill are experiencing significant residential
development and population growth therefore requiring upgrades or construction
in water and infrastructure to meet the demands of the growing populations.
On Wednesday,
July 7, 2023, the Baldwin County Commission approved the Loxley Water
Improvement Agreement from the ARPA Funds for a one-time allocation of up to $750,000.
With the sub-awarded
ARPA funds the City of Loxley will be drilling and developing a new water well
for public well supply.
On Tuesday, June
6, 2023, the Baldwin County Commission approved the Town of Summerdale Water
Tower Project Agreement and the Town of Silverhill Water Tower Project
Agreement from the ARPA funds for a one-time allocation of up to $1,000,000 for
each project.
With the sub-awarded ARPA funds the Town of Summerdale and the Town of Silverhill will each be building a new water tower.
