Honorable Betty B. Sweet

The Honorable Betty Sweet was appointed as Chair of the Baldwin County Board of Registrars, effective January 1, 2016 by Governor Robert Bentley. Mrs. Sweet replaces
former Chair Mrs. Patsy Clark, and her term will expire September 30, 2019.  Mrs. Sweet
has formerly worked for the Baldwin County Board of Registrars, and has served as a prior
Board member.

Mrs. Sweet grew up in Stockton, Alabama and attended Baldwin County High School and Faulkner State. She is retired from the City of Mobile after 25 years of service. Mrs. Sweet is the daughter of the late Nora and Loy Ballard of Stockton. She and her husband John live in Stockton and are members of the Stockton Presbyterian Church, where she has served as a deacon. Mrs. Sweet has also served as the moderator of Presbyterian Women of South Alabama and is an Officer in the Five Arts Club of Stockton. They are the parents of son John, who is married to the former Mary Stotz of Mobile and they have two granddaughters, Cori and Haley.
