Due to the many types of business license, rules and regulations and prices, we suggest calling the office to obtain information needed regarding a Business License.

After completion of your application, you may either come in person to one of our offices or pay through the mail. We accept cash, certified check, money orders, and credit card payments. We will only accept personal or business checks if you have a physical presence in the State of Alabama. Please be sure to include your Alabama address on your check.  *If mailing, YOU MUST CALL for the amount due. Applications received without proper payment amount cannot be processed and will be returned. All persons, corporations, partnerships, etc. owning personal property are subject to ad valorem tax.  The property must be listed and assessed in the Revenue Commissioner's office after October 1, but no later than December 31 each year. You should contact:

If your business is located inside the city limits of a Municipality, you need to contact the City Clerk of that Municipality.
