Historic Bicentennial Park Exhibits
Nineteenth Century Working Farm image

• The Working Farm Exhibit at Bicentennial Park fosters an understanding of the family farming operations that were a mainstay of the early Baldwin County economy.

• The Working Farm has taught 19th and early 20th century farming techniques to many children in the area. Students have planted, tended and harvested corn, beans, peas, potatoes, and collard and mustard greens all in an effort to learn the past practices of those who settled Baldwin County.

• The staff of the Baldwin County Department of Archives and History, Friends of the Park volunteers, Outward Bound Program and the Baldwin County Girls Wilderness Program will help create and work the Working Farm exhibit.

• The future goals of the Working Farm exhibit include more cultivated fields to enhance our visitors experience as they participate in hands-on learning of the lifestyles led by their ancestors.
