The Baldwin County Building Department issues permits and conducts inspections for construction within the County’s building-permit jurisdiction. Regulated work includes but is not limited to:

The Department administers and enforces the building codes, ordinances, and resolutions adopted by the Baldwin County Commission. These include applicable International Code Council (ICC) codes and local amendments, Baldwin County Building Code Modifications, the Floodplain Development Ordinance, and the Beach and Dune Protection and Management Regulations.
