Informal Bids I ($251-$1,000)
Quotations from a minimum of three vendors are obtained verbally or in writing.
Informal Bids II ($1,001-$14,999)
Three written quotations (All must be attached to the Requisition)
Formal Bids ($15,000 or more) & all Capital Projects
- $15,000 and Above - No advertising in the newspaper is required. However, the Purchasing Agent may advertise, if deemed necessary, to obtain a good competition. Notices of Letting are placed on public bulletin boards. Notices of bids for commodities/services are sent to all on the Bidders List.
- $50,000 to $499,999 Public Works - Advertise in a local paper and announced by Notices of Letting are placed on public bulletin boards. Notice of bids for commodities/services are sent to all on the Bidders List.
- $500,000 and above- The bids are advertised once a week, for three consecutive weeks, in three newspapers of general circulation throughout the state and announced by Notices of Letting are placed on public bulletin boards. Notice of bids for commodities/services are sent to all on the Bidders List.
