Baldwin County Probate is not responsible for stickers that are lost in the mail. If stickers are not received, customers will have to obtain replacements at fee of $2 per motor vehicle sticker and $5 per boat sticker.

Your motor vehicle license plate (decal/tag) must be renewed each year. Renewal reminders are sometimes mailed as a courtesy at the beginning of the scheduled renewal month. It is your responsibility to renew your tag/decal during the correct renewal month. Your renewal month is determined by the first letter of your last name. Delinquent renewals are subject to penalties and interest.

The fees for renewing/registering your vehicle license plate/decal is determined by a combination of your ad valorem tax assessment and a license fee.
Effective January 1, 1998 a new Alabama Law has changed the policies and procedures regarding the renewal and/or transfer of your motor vehicle license plate. The plate no longer goes with the vehicle.
